The Brewery
Stone Brewing was founded by Greg Koch and Steve Wagner in 1996 in San Marcos, California. Their mission was to create amazing, flavorful beers and provide an alternative choice for those who were unsatisfied with the industrialized beers dominating the market at the time. Their first beer, Stone Pale Ale, was a hybrid pale ale that added an American flair to a more English-style recipe. This beer was how they began to carve their identity.
