The Collection
Blended in the Johnnie Walker Vault beneath Princes Street in Edinburgh, the Couture Expression is a collaboration between Balmain Creative Director Olivier Rousteing and Master Blender Dr. Emma Walker. What began as a single release became four, one for each season, presented as a set the way a couture collection is.
All four share a heart of ghost whiskies from Brora and Port Dundas, two closed distilleries whose stocks cannot be replaced. Spring is refreshing and floral, with 1985 Cragganmore and 1977 Caledonian. Summer is vibrant and tropical, with Clynelish and 1988 Benrinnes. Fall is textured and bold, built on 1978 Port Ellen. Winter is the richest of the four, with Port Ellen and Brora. Each is bottled at 45.8 percent in a Baccarat crystal decanter, and only 25 of each season were made. Collection 86 carries all four, poured by the ounce at Yaamava' Resort & Casino in Highland, California.
