The Bottle
Released in December 2013, the first Michter's Celebration Sour Mash was blended by then Master Distiller Willie Pratt from hand-selected Kentucky Straight Bourbon and Kentucky Straight Rye, drawing on barrels aged more than twenty and more than thirty years. It changed what the world expected of American whiskey, and every Celebration since has been measured against it.
Only 273 bottles were made. At 112.3 proof it remains the lowest-strength Celebration ever bottled, leaving less between the drinker and the blend. Pratt blended just two Celebrations before retiring, the 2013 and the 2016. Collection 86 pours it by the ounce at Yaamava' Resort & Casino in Highland, California.
